Letters from Ora Labora – March 18th, 1864

March 18th, 1864. Detroit, Michigan. Emil Baur to Baker and Henrici.

Mess Baker & Henrici

Honored Friends!

May the Lord be with your loved-ones and your work. From Ora Labora I have written to you about the receiving of the thousand dollars, and have immediately notified Mr. Robinson of it.

Since I would like to purchase the remaining lands, as that we do not have to pay taxes on it for 3 years, so things are proceeding somewhat more slowly than I myself had imagined. I certainly know that you’ll have patience with me.

I am at present getting ready to travel, and ask you to excuse the brevity.

Greetings of friendship,

Emil Baur.
